About the role

Our Technology team wakes up every day with one goal in mind - connecting Canadians to the people and things that matter most. Together, we are proud to support 30 million Canadians each month through managing a robust portfolio that champions leading-edge technology. We drive large-scale, complex, and high-visibility technology projects and programs that shape the future of technology in Canada and expand connectivity from coast to coast. If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity:  Who we're looking for:   We’re looking for a  Sr. Manager, Data Solution Architecture to lead a team of architects who design and deliver scalable, secure, and reusable data solutions.    This role sits within the Data & AI team and is grounded in data architecture and engineering, platform and application design, and data modeling for analytics and AI, while also extending into broader solution architecture. You’ll guide the team in shaping solutions end-to-end, from data pipelines and semantic models to integration patterns.    What you'll be doing:   Lead & Grow the Team:

Lead and mentor a team of data and AI solution architects, fostering a hands-on, build-oriented culture  Support architects in developing both design depth and practical implementation skills  Create space for experimentation, prototyping, and learning using modern tools

  Architect End-to-End Solutions:

Identify, document, and promote reusable architectural patterns, standards, and best practices across data and solution design  Guide the design of scalable, secure solutions in the data and AI space  Work across the lifecycle, from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation support  Ensure solutions balance reusability, performance, and real-world delivery constraints

  Stay Close to the Build:

Partner with engineering teams during implementation  Contribute to prototyping, design validation, and code reviews  Bring practical insight into what can go wrong in production and how to mitigate it early

  Shape Data & Platform Architecture:

Lead the design of data models and data pipelines, ensuring quality, scalability, and usability  Define patterns for data consumption, integration, and interoperability  Collaborate with governance, security, and platform teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards

  Collaborate Across the Organization:

Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to translate needs into practical solutions  Influence decisions through clear communication and pragmatic trade-offs  Drive alignment across architecture, engineering, and delivery teams  Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights

  Explore Emerging Capabilities:

Bring curiosity and interest in AI-enabled solutions and development approaches  Encourage experimentation with tools that accelerate design and delivery (e.g., coding assistants, automation, agentic patterns)

  What you bring:

We recognize strong candidates come from different paths. You might be a great fit if you have:  Experience designing and delivering data solutions:   Data pipelines (ETL/ELT, batch or streaming)  Data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, semantic)  Data integration and analytics platforms  A solid understanding of data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake. BigQuery)  A hands-on mindset that gives you comfort participating in code reviews and technical discussions  Experience leading, mentoring, or influencing others

You’ll stand out if you also have:

Interest and/or experience in AI/ML or AI-enabled data use cases  Exposure to broader solution architecture  Experience aligning data architecture with governance and quality practices  A pragmatic approach — you know how to balance ideal design with delivery realities

  How We Work:

We are data-first, but not data-only  We expect architects to be close to the build, not removed from it  We value practical solutions over theoretical perfection  We support people in growing into adjacent areas, not just staying in their lane
