WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs - Product Safety & Toxicology - Global with people management experience, who will be responsible for leading a team with diverse responsibilities. This includes raw material and formula toxicology assessment, regulatory reviews, product claims review, and post-market surveillance.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,000 to 120,000.
Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
Lead the Product Safety & Toxicology function, providing scientific and regulatory oversight to ensure the safety and compliance of DECIEM's global product portfolio Partner with Applied Research, Brand, Claims, and Regulatory teams to guide innovative products—from concept through registration and commercialization Drive the safety strategy for emerging categories, including OTC products, natural health products, supplements, and cosmetics, with a focus on supporting future business growth Oversee toxicological risk assessments, exposure evaluations, and ingredient safety reviews to inform product development and support scientifically substantiated claims Build and continuously improve end-to-end safety and regulatory processes that enable efficient product development while maintaining the highest compliance standards Lead and develop a growing team of Product Safety professionals through coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development, with the opportunity to expand the team over time Serve as the subject matter expert on product safety, providing guidance on post-market surveillance, customer escalations, product liability matters, and evolving regulatory requirements Collaborate with colleagues across Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia, balancing multiple global priorities while supporting cross-functional decision-making Monitor emerging global regulations, toxicology research, and industry trends to proactively shape safety frameworks and regulatory strategies Champion a collaborative, science-first approach by translating complex toxicological data into practical business recommendations that support innovation without compromising consumer safety
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
8+ years of experience in product safety, toxicology, and risk assessment, with 6+ years of regulatory affairs experience supporting cosmetics, OTC products, natural health products, pharmaceuticals, or related regulated consumer products across the EU, US, and Canadian markets Proven experience leading, coaching, or mentoring teams, with the ability to develop talent and foster a collaborative, people-first culture Strong scientific expertise with the ability to interpret toxicological data, perform risk assessments, and translate complex technical information into clear, practical recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple global priorities, deliver projects on time, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience partnering across functions, engaging with external regulatory bodies or industry associations, and handling confidential scientific and customer information with discretion Degree in Toxicology or another relevant scientific discipline required; DABT, ERT, or equivalent toxicology certification is required
