About the role

Acoustical Engineering Consultant (Designer) Aercoustics Engineering Ltd., 2015 Main St, Vancouver, BC V5T 3C2

Are you an early-career engineer looking for more than repetitive design work? Do you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working directly with clients, and building a career in consulting engineering? If so, we'd love to meet you.

At Aercoustics, you'll work alongside some of Canada's leading acoustical engineers on projects that shape how people experience buildings, performance spaces, transportation systems and communities. If you're naturally curious, enjoy working with clients, and thrive in a consulting environment where no two projects are the same, we'd love to meet you.

We’re an award-winning, national leader in consulting engineering services in the field of acoustics, noise and vibration. We work on varied and challenging projects, from noise reduction in transit systems, to world-class performance spaces for the Royal Conservatory of Music, to the research and development of tools that are changing our industry.

Now we’re looking for a talented individual to join us in the evolving role of Project Consultant (Designer) and we are hoping our search ends with you.

We’re Aercoustics Engineering Ltd., and this is where you belong.

Overview of Opportunity

You'll join our growing Vancouver team, working primarily in Architectural Acoustics while collaborating with colleagues across Canada on Environmental Noise & Vibration projects.

You'll work directly with clients, architects, developers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, giving you exposure to both the technical and relationship side of consulting.

This opportunity is ideal for an early-career engineer (0–3 years' experience) who is looking to accelerate their development in consulting engineering while learning from some of Canada's leading acoustical consultants. Your primary goal will be to assist our engineering team, and clients, in developing innovative solutions to a variety of acoustical, noise or vibration challenges. You will be involved in tasks such as sound and vibration measurements, preparation of design reports, preparation of models and calculations and other supporting tasks.

Success in this role isn't about already knowing acoustics, it's about being curious, asking great questions, communicating effectively, and having the drive to become an exceptional consultant. We'll teach you the technical side.

This is a full-time, permanent position. We’re a hybrid work model with remote work and in office as needed depending on project needs and current environment. We accommodate strong work-life flexibility at our company and believe that everyone is an adult. We focus on your outcomes, and you’ll be trusted to manage your time to maximize your impact and to also make yourself available for meetings and other internal events as needed.

Additionally, to make you more successful in your career at Aercoustics, you will be exposed to a diverse range of projects that will give you an excellent foundation in acoustics.

Your primary focus will be Architectural Acoustics, with opportunities to gain experience in Environmental Noise & Vibration, giving you a broader consulting background than most early-career engineering roles.
