Overview We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an Analyst in the Application Policy & Conservation department. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the processing of energy conservation and transition-related utility applications for rate funding, adjudicative policy development, and supporting technical projects related to these and other topics.
Responsibilities
- Research energy efficiency policy and programs in Ontario and in other jurisdictions
- Undertake research and analysis on topics including, but not limited to, energy efficiency, energy savings analysis, estimation of energy savings potential, and cost-benefit savings analysis
- Assist Advisors and Senior Advisors with adjudicative proceedings (e.g. notices, procedural orders, decisions, oral hearing schedules) and policy development initiatives, including supporting the planning and coordination of stakeholder sessions and/or working groups
- Assist in the annual evaluation, measurement & verification of energy efficiency programs in Ontario
- Assist Advisors and Senior Advisors with policy development initiatives
- Support the development of policies related to electricity and natural gas applications by conducting policy research and preparing presentations, letters, reports, and other documentation with policy recommendations
- Work closely on internal technical and administrative projects to support the team, department and/or organization
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Public Policy, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related field
- 2 years’ experience working in a regulatory environment and/or electricity or gas utility
- Interest or experience in energy conservation, energy efficiency analysis, and/or cost-benefit analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Analytical and statistical software skills are assets
