Advisory Services Specialist (Contract) Hybrid, based out of Toronto Full-time, Contract (14 months)

Opportunity Overview The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to problem gambling prevention. For more than 40 years, we have worked to reduce gambling risk by creating and delivering innovative awareness and information programs in Ontario and around the world. We work with priority populations, including youth, young adults, ethnocultural populations, and the public, to educate people on the risks of gambling, how to mitigate those risks, and how to access support. We work with industry, regulators and government to promote the adoption of improved play safeguards through advisory services, best practices research, knowledge mobilization, standards development, and the RG Check accreditation program.

As a member of the Advisory Services team, and reporting to the Associate Director, the Advisory Services Specialist (14-month contract) will support the delivery of high-impact consulting projects that strengthen responsible gambling programs across Canada and internationally. This role works closely with clients and internal teams to translate complex evidence and policy into practical, actionable solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and support consulting projects, including managing timelines, deliverables, and contributing to project budgets Collaborate directly with clients to identify needs, inform project design, and deliver high-quality work that supports client objectives Interpret and synthesize complex policy, research, and program documentation into clear, client-ready outputs (e.g., reports, presentations, executive summaries) Apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis to generate insights and evidence-informed recommendations Develop data collection tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides, focus group protocols) to support project work Contribute to proposal development and business development activities Work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions

QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, social sciences, policy, research methods), or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of responsible gambling, public health, or related policy areas, with the ability to apply this knowledge in advisory work Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working with both qualitative and quantitative data High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work Strong relationship management skills and professionalism when working with clients and stakeholders Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience in gambling or a related field is an asset

Salary range is $72,000-$85,000 annually commensurate with skills and experience.
