Job Description: Qualifications: You will be involved in Embedded Software Development on the client Infotainment and Digital Cockpit system. Developers collaborate to bring leading-edge interactivity and visualizations to the vehicle cockpit. Together we will elevate the digital experience by providing new ways to interact with the vehicle. The software development will be primarily in Java for the Android Automotive operating system. Your Impact and Responsibilities: Work on new and exciting features for next generation digital cockpit and infotainment system experiences. Be an active participant in great community of software developers, test engineers, designers, technical artists, technical product managers, and leads to champion best-in-class quality and functionality throughout the full life cycle of product development. Deliver great code for graphical user-interfaces, middleware, and services Required Skills and Experiences: 5 or more years of experience developing Android services and applications, including: At least 3 years with C++ o At least 3 years with Java/Kotlin · At least one year each with both Android applications and inside the AOSP. Demonstrated experience with: C++ 17 or above, memory management, polymorphism, thread management, and lambda expressions · Customized Android services development (e.g., Bound Services, Foreground Services), AIDL, local binders, messengers, and work manager · AOSP Build Systems: Familiarity with Android.bp (Soong) and Android.mk build files. Ownership of a small feature or component over more than one full release lifecycle (inception to delivery and support). Should be able to illustrate a dedication to quality, lots of initiative, and a very strong ability to collaborate · The component should be part of a complex application ecosystem, such as: client and multiple servers, displays on multiple screens, databases, thread synchronization, networking, etc. Lifecycle activities should include working with visual designs and functional requirements, defining software architecture, developing, testing, shipping, and supporting applications with postmortem, crash, and stability analysis · Ability to articulate and evangelize the right software design patterns for your architecture; validating code with unit-testing and mock frameworks (e.g., Mockito, MockK); static and dynamic code analysis tools (SonarQube, Klocwork, Valgrind, or equivalent); profiling and performance optimization; contributing to code inspections. Experience with agile development tools and processes Preferred Qualifications: Industry specific experience with automotive development technology, specifications, and processes (CAN, ASPICE, FMEA, etc.) Experience with: Hardware Abstraction Layer implementations especially in regard to automotive Experience with modern Stable AIDL HALs (Android 11+ standards). o Hands-on experience with Android-specific profiling tools to debug memory corruption and race conditions. QNX or Automotive Grade Linux Skills Required: C++. C++ 17 or above, memory management, polymorphism, thread management, and lambda expressions. Hardware Abstraction Layer implementations especially in regard to automotive. Experience with modern Stable AIDL HALs (Android 11+ standards). Skills Preferred: Java Customized Android services development (e.g., Bound Services, Foreground Services), AIDL, local binders, messengers, and work manager Experience Required: At least 3 years with C++ Education Required: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
