About the role

Position Overview As the IT Support & Business Systems Technician, you will provide day-to-day technical support to employees while helping maintain the technology that keeps our business running. You'll troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, Microsoft 365, ERP systems, and user issues while working closely with the IT Manager to support new technology initiatives and process improvements.

This role offers exposure well beyond traditional help desk responsibilities, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Business Systems Specialist, Systems Generalist, or Technology Analyst.

Key Responsibilities End User Support Provide first-line technical support for employees across multiple departments. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues. Configure and deploy desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and accessories. Support Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications. Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related Microsoft 365 services.

Identity & Cloud Administration Administer Microsoft 365 user accounts and licensing. Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts. Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). Assist with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) administration. Maintain user permissions and access controls.

ERP & Business Systems Support Assist employees with ERP system troubleshooting and user support. Work with business users to resolve system issues and improve workflows. Support software implementations, upgrades, testing, and documentation. Assist with data validation and system configuration as required.

Network & Infrastructure Support Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity. Support switches, routers, VPN connections, DNS, DHCP, and general networking. Assist with maintaining servers, storage, backups, and infrastructure documentation. Escalate complex issues while assisting with root cause analysis.

Device & Asset Management Prepare and deploy new employee workstations. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding technology requirements. Maintain IT asset inventory. Track warranties, software licensing, and hardware lifecycle.

Vendor & Technology Support Coordinate with third-party technology vendors. Assist with purchasing and deploying IT hardware and software. Support meeting room technology and audiovisual equipment.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs. Identify opportunities to automate or simplify business processes. Support AI and productivity technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Teams Transcription, and other emerging business tools. Participate in technology improvement initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience will also be considered. 2–4 years of professional IT support experience. Experience supporting users in a Windows-based business environment. Experience administering Microsoft 365. Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). Experience supporting ERP or business management software. Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Preferred Experience Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or production environments. Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems. Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools. Experience with Microsoft Intune or mobile device management. Exposure to cybersecurity best practices. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or similar are considered an asset.

Schedule & Work Details Hours: Full-time, 8:00 - 4:30 PM Location: Penticton, BC Environment: Industrial manufacturing environment, shop floor and office.
