About the role
Job Description What is the opportunity? As an Analyst in Operations Process Engineering, you will report to the Senior Manager of Process Re-Engineering and play a pivotal role in RBC's Transformation & Enterprise Operations (TEO) team. TEO drives enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across our Cash, Payments & Trade, and Finance Shared Services Operations. In this role, you'll be at the intersection of business optimization and emerging technology, diagnosing operational challenges and co-designing innovative future-state solutions that drive measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and risk reduction. You'll apply structured problem-solving methodologies and technology insights to help business and technology partners reimagine what operations could be. What will you do? Process documentation and analysis Conduct walkthroughs, create detailed process maps, and systematically identify pain points through root cause analysis Synthesize findings into clear, compelling insights that illuminate improvement opportunities Partner with data teams to extract, validate, and visualize operational metrics that inform analysis and support storytelling Future-State Design & Recommendations Apply continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Thinking) to envision optimized future-state processes Evaluate emerging technology solutions (Gen AI, AI Agents, RPA, Intelligent Automation) and assess fit for specific operational challenges Support the co-design of end-to-end solutions with business and technology partners, balancing feasibility, impact, and strategic alignment Support the creation of clear, actionable recommendations and business cases that guide downstream implementation decisions Stakeholder Engagement Communicate process insights and recommendations to both technical and business stakeholders and ensure recommendations are grounded in reality Champion innovation and continuous improvement mindset within the Operations Process Engineering team What do you need to succeed? Must-have: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Innovation, Technology Management or related field 0-2 years of experience in process improvement and transformation initiatives, including co-op terms Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written) Strong structured problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities with proven curiosity and comfort with ambiguity Keen interest in emerging technologies (Generative AI, RPA, Intelligent Automation) and their operational applications Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook) Basic to intermediate capability in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) Nice-to-have: Certification or demonstrated knowledge in Lean and/or Six Sigma Familiarity with enterprise process documentation standards or tools (Visio, Lucidchart, or similar) Knowledge of requirements gathering and/or UX What’s in it for you?
