Summary
Our client, a leading Canadian manufacturer and distributor serving industrial and commercial markets, is seeking an Inventory Analyst to join their Manufacturing Services team. Reporting to the Director, Supply & Planning, this role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting financial reporting requirements, analyzing inventory performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and third-party service provider locations. This role will be on-site Monday to Thursday, Friday is work from home. The successful candidate will play a key role in inventory reconciliation, loss control, SAP data integrity, and operational process improvement.
Qualifications
3+ years in a similar Inventory Analyst role in an industrial or manufacturing work environment Strong proficiency with SAP and Excel Excellent communication interpersonal skills - working with multiple sites Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a continuous improvement mindset Non-authoritative leadership skills and the ability to influence stakeholders Knowledge of accounting processes is considered an asset College Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Responsibilities
Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in SAP and comply with company policies Complete inventory reconciliations across multiple locations and coordinate investigations and corrective actions for inventory variances Lead initiatives focused on reducing inventory losses by collaborating with operations, procurement, suppliers, and management teams Maintain inventory accuracy and support effective inventory management practices at third-party service provider locations Coordinate and conduct additive expiry-date audits at manufacturing and contractor locations Analyze inventory trends and prepare KPI reporting and performance metrics Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and loss prevention Support process improvement activities through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders Manage processes related to material returns, non-PO component requests, and order fulfillment Present inventory adjustment findings and recommendations to senior leadership on a monthly basis Provide cross-functional support and coverage for other Inventory Analysts as required Support internal and external audit activities Coordinate SAP material master data changes, including unit of measure and density updates Monitor obsolete inventory and coordinate consumption or disposal activities with operations and vendor locations Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
