About the Role:
The Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective allocation of resources to meet organizational goals. This position involves developing, coordinating, and implementing detailed plans that align with strategic objectives across various departments. The Planner will analyze data, forecast needs, and adjust plans proactively to respond to changing conditions and priorities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to integrate inputs and ensure seamless execution of plans. Ultimately, the Planner contributes to optimizing operational performance and supporting sustainable growth within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in production planning, materials planning, scheduling, inventory control, or a related role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Candidates will be required to complete an Excel skills assessment during the interview process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience with advanced planning tools such as ERP systems or specialized planning software.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
- Certification in project management or supply chain planning (e.g., PMP, APICS).
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive plans that support organizational strategies and objectives.
- Analyze data and trends to forecast resource requirements and potential challenges.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment.
- Monitor plan execution and make adjustments as needed to address unforeseen issues or changes.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate planning outcomes and recommendations to leadership.
Skills:
The Planner utilizes analytical skills daily to interpret data and forecast future needs, ensuring plans are both realistic and strategic. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse teams and presenting findings clearly to stakeholders. Proficiency with planning and project management software enables efficient scheduling and resource allocation. Problem-solving skills are applied continuously to adjust plans in response to dynamic operational environments. Additionally, organizational skills help manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Note: This is a full-time, on-site position located in Burnaby, BC, Canada.
