Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Current CPR certification Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Competencies Written Communication Skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Verbal communication skills Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Ability to be resilient Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Ability to exhibit situational awareness Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
