You will demonstrate your technical knowledge in the field, and work towards implementing practical and effective solutions for clients. Your role will involve conducting field testing and assessments, collecting samples, and supporting Project Leads in the preparation of field reports.
JOB DUTIES
- Conducting fieldwork associated with a wide range of projects including:
- Field testing and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt materials
- Compaction testing of subgrade soils, asphalt and aggregate using a nuclear density gauge
- Material sampling at job sites, pits and quarries
- Subgrade and foundation inspections
- Assisting the materials testing laboratory (Peterborough office)
- Collection of field data, compilation of field notes, and photographs.
- Coordinate and liaison with contractors, and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in or graduate of a Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering Technician/Technologist program in College or University, or relevant experience.
- Co-op students are welcome to apply!
- The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
