Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role We are looking for a seasoned Project Practice Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping how projects and programs are governed across our IT portfolio. This is a high-visibility, senior-level position that sits at the intersection of governance, strategy, and delivery — working closely with project managers, portfolio leaders, and executive sponsors to ensure our projects are compliant, well-managed, and set up for success. As our organization evolves toward a Product delivery model, you will be instrumental in adapting our governance framework to support both Waterfall and Agile/SAFe methodologies — making this an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on driving meaningful change. What you’ll do here: Governance & Compliance Ensure program and project compliance with internal and external compliance regulations and standards Maintain and update IT project governance policies, processes and standards documentation and guidelines Ensure the Project Management Framework remains compliant with current regulations while proactively anticipating and adapting to regulatory changes Project & Risk Oversight Monitor project risks, track the implementation of mitigation measures, and follow up to ensure timely resolution Provide portfolio sponsors with a summarized view of program and project delivery health using available data and dashboards Identify and connect interdependencies across initiatives to ensure governance strategies are aligned and coherent Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement Provide hands-on advice and support to project managers and project teams on governance standards and project management best practices Advise Executive Sponsors by synthesizing complex program and project delivery health into clear, concise, and actionable insights Drive strategic collaboration by facilitating workshops and developing executive-level materials (e.g., IT Program Risk Heatmap, senior leadership presentations) Governance Framework Evolution Lead and shape the governance practice by driving continuous improvement initiatives that optimize project management processes Evolve the governance framework to support multiple delivery methodologies (Agile/SAFe, Waterfall, and Product model) Champion major governance uplift initiatives, setting direction and influencing outcomes at a program level Contribute to the simplification of project artifacts across the project lifecycle and transition to operations What you bring to the table: Minimum of 7 years of experience in project compliance, project management, or a related field Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile/SAFe frameworks Demonstrated experience advising and presenting to senior executives and stakeholders, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, strategic narratives Proven ability to develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and standards in a large, complex organization Experience managing and monitoring project risks and driving mitigation strategies Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops and cross-functional discussions Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint — able to craft polished, high-impact executive presentations Strong analytical mindset with experience using dashboards and data to tell compelling delivery health stories Ability to influence without authority and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada. Bilingualism. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
