Overview We are currently seeking a Municipal Drainage Engineer to join our Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, including water mains, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and roadways. Responsibilities Project Management & Design Manage civil engineering team activities and support project managers / technical staff in the delivery of municipal drainage projects within Ontario. Lead design team(s) on a variety of municipal and land development infrastructure projects related to municipal drainage. Lead and provide technical direction of functional design, detailed design for the development of construction documents and specifications for tendering and construction. Lead construction administration of municipal drainage projects. We empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design. Business Development Identify and develop of new business opportunities. Lead the maintenance of existing client relationships, including preparation of proposals and statement of qualification. Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request. Learning & Development Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications What you will need to succeed A degree in civil engineering. Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months. Five years’ professional work experience in municipal / infrastructure engineering. Experience Demonstrated success in the leadership of project teams and business development. Experienced in the design and construction management of municipal drainage projects. In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements. Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. Experienced in municipal drainage design standards, environmental approvals and the Ontario Drainage Act. Demonstrated skills in public and agency consultation. Strong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D software will be considered an asset. Compensation $75,000-$115,000 Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
