Role Description The Business Analyst role is a part-time remote position responsible for supporting data-driven insights and business process improvements across Indigenous Energy Monitor’s products and services. This role involves gathering and documenting business requirements from internal stakeholders and external partners, analyzing datasets related to energy and resource sector participation, and translating findings into clear reports, dashboards, and recommendations. The Business Analyst will collaborate with product, research, and advisory teams to refine workflows, enhance platform features, and ensure that client needs are accurately understood and addressed. Day-to-day tasks include conducting market and stakeholder analysis, mapping current and future business processes, preparing presentations and briefings, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports both strategic initiatives and operational efficiency.
Qualifications Strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and derive actionable insights. Proficiency in Business Analysis and Business Requirements gathering, including translating stakeholder needs into clear specifications. Experience with Business Process mapping and improvement, supporting efficient workflows and scalable solutions. Effective Communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly in written reports and presentations. Familiarity with data tools (e.g., spreadsheets, business intelligence or visualization tools) and basic understanding of market intelligence or research methods. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity. Knowledge of or interest in Indigenous economic participation, energy and resource sectors, or public policy is an asset. Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
