Desired Results of the Position: Support research initiatives that help the SA better understand our members' needs, experiences, and priorities. Gather, interpret, and communicate insights that contribute to planning and the development of programs and services that improve the student experience. Conduct research and coordinate information-gathering activities that provide departments, Senior Management, and the Board of Directors with evidence and context to inform organizational priorities and decision-making.
Nature and Scope Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications & Strategy, the Research and Insights Coordinator conducts research and shares insights that help the SA understand the impact of its programs and services and respond to the evolving needs and priorities of our members.
Job Duties Conduct and coordinate research and information gathering activities, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and other research methods, to support the SA's understanding of member needs, experiences, priorities, and emerging issues. Gather, interpret, and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify key insights and communicate findings through reports, presentations, briefing notes, and summaries that support organizational planning and decision-making. Support governance activities through research related to bylaws, policies, and Board initiatives. Conduct research on provincial and federal legislation and regulations to support compliance efforts. Support the evaluation of SA programs, services, events, and initiatives and respond to departmental research requests by providing information, insights, and context to support planning and continuous improvement. Conduct environmental scans, benchmarking, and jurisdictional research to identify trends, best practices, funding opportunities, and emerging developments relevant to the SA. Coordinate research administration and maintain processes, templates, and documentation that support research, evaluation, and organizational learning across the SA. Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications Post-secondary diploma or degree in social sciences, psychology, communications, business, public administration, market research, education, or related field. 1-3 years of experience conducting research, coordinating projects or initiatives, or supporting evidence-informed decision-making. Experience designing and administering surveys, facilitating focus groups or interviews, and interpreting findings is considered an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials. Demonstrated ability to gather, organize, interpret, and summarize information from a variety of sources. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using survey platforms, qualitative research tools, or engagement software is considered an asset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Experience working in a student-focused, non-profit, post-secondary, or service-oriented environment is considered an asset. Compensation: This position is based on 35 hours per week, on a flexible schedule with some weeks being more hours and some less hours, including evenings and weekends as the schedule demands. Term Contract: Contract term to run until September 3, 2027 This position is paid $29.15 per hour
