The IT Functional Analyst - Manufacturing plays a critical role in ensuring that Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) effectively support real plant operations across the network. Acting as the primary interface between plant teams and IT, this role gathers, validates, and translates manufacturing requirements into clear, structured functional specifications for delivery teams. The role is accountable for ensuring that MES solutions are aligned with shopfloor reality, usable by operations teams, and successfully adopted in production environments. This includes leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with plant stakeholders, driving change management and training activities, and supporting deployment and hypercare phases. Working closely with delivery teams, architects, and operations support, the IT Functional Analyst - Manufacturing ensures that solutions are not only technically sound, but also operationally effective. The role also acts as the first point of functional escalation for MES-related issues and plays a key role in identifying continuous improvement opportunities based on plant feedback and operational performance. What will drive value: Act as the primary MES point of contact for plant operations Gather, validate, and structure business requirements from plant stakeholders Translate manufacturing needs into clear user stories and functional specifications Ensure solutions reflect real production workflows and constraints Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with plant teams Validate solution usability and operational readiness before deployment Drive training, communication, and change management activities Support go-live and hypercare to ensure smooth transition to operations Act as first-level functional escalation for MES usage issues Identify and document continuous improvement opportunities based on plant feedback Project involvement includes Analyze and document manufacturing processes and workflows Gather and formalize plant requirements Translate business needs into structured functional documentation Collaborate with delivery teams to validate solution design and configuration Define test scenarios and lead UAT execution with plant stakeholders Coordinate defect resolution with delivery teams Support development and execution of training plans Participate in on-site commissioning and deployment activities Support hypercare and stabilization following deployment Capture lessons learned and feed improvements into the product backlog Additional Responsibilities Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Adhere to safety protocols: Stop unsafe acts and follow safety procedures Report or correct hazards Support safety programs and policies What will enable you to have an impact: Education Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Operations, or related field (preferred) Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Experience 5+ years of experience in MES, manufacturing operations, or IT/OT environments Strong experience working directly with plant stakeholders and production teams Proven ability to bridge business operations and IT delivery teams Experience participating in system deployments in industrial environments Experience leading or supporting UAT and plant-level implementations Certifications PMP, Agile, or equivalent certification (asset) Key Skills Strong ability to translate operational needs into structured requirements Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and shopfloor realities Good understanding of MES technologies and industrial systems Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to challenge and validate both business and technical assumptions Structured and pragmatic problem-solving mindset Experience supporting change management and system adoption Understanding of high-availability and 24/7 operational environments Additional Information Travel required: 30–40% A role aligned with what creates the greatest collective impact.
