Role Description The Transport Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown, ON. This role involves planning and coordinating daily transportation activities, including route design, load allocation, scheduling, and resource utilization to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services. The Transport Planner monitors fleet performance, addresses operational issues, and collaborates with dispatch, drivers, and operations teams to maintain service quality and safety standards. The role includes analyzing transport data, supporting transport modelling and forecasting, and recommending improvements to optimize capacity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Transport Planner also prepares reports, maintains accurate records, and communicates clearly with internal stakeholders and clients regarding schedules, changes, and service requirements. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling skills to design efficient routes and support data-driven decision-making. Candidates should possess Transportation Management and Operations Management skills to oversee daily transport activities and optimize fleet utilization. Candidates should possess solid Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, drivers, and customers, and to provide clear, timely updates. Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., transport management systems, routing or mapping software, and Excel) and have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Post-secondary education in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field, along with experience in trucking or logistics operations, is highly beneficial. Knowledge of North American transport regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment, are preferred.
