About The Role

The Business Analyst for Mobile & Web Applications at IMS plays a critical role in translating product strategy into detailed, actionable requirements that guide the development of our user-facing digital products. This position involves supporting the entire product lifecycle for our flagship mobile application, OneApp, available on iOS and Android platforms, as well as the DriveSync Hub web interface serving business customers and insurers. The Business Analyst will serve as a bridge between stakeholders—including product leadership, engineering teams, sales, and external partners—and the technical teams responsible for development. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to articulate complex business needs into technical specifications. This position may also involve higher-level responsibilities, including product ownership, for candidates with extensive experience, offering increased ownership and strategic influence.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of experience in business analysis within technology or software development environments Proven experience documenting requirements for mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web applications Strong ability to create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and technical specifications Experience managing product backlogs using Jira or similar tools Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies with hands-on experience in sprint planning and backlog refinement Understanding of mobile app development constraints, including offline functionality, device permissions, and performance considerations Familiarity with web application development, SaaS platforms, and SDK integration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements gathering sessions Proficiency with business analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, and Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple concurrent requirements streams Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment

Responsibilities

Translate product roadmap and strategic objectives into detailed, actionable requirements for the OneApp mobile application and DriveSync Hub web interface Document functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with business goals Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, wireframes, and technical specifications to guide engineering teams Maintain comprehensive documentation of product features, business rules, and system behaviors across platforms Ensure consistency and integration between mobile and web experiences through clear documentation and communication Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand user needs for both B2C and B2B audiences Manage and prioritize product backlogs in Jira, supporting story refinement and sprint planning activities Coordinate with engineering teams to clarify requirements, answer questions, and resolve ambiguities during development cycles Support product releases by coordinating documentation, requirements, and testing activities across platforms Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure user experience requirements are accurately documented and implemented Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication of requirements and expectations Conduct business analysis to understand customer pain points, workflows, and opportunities for product improvement Analyze app and web analytics to inform product decisions and identify areas for enhancement Support pre-sales activities by documenting product capabilities and creating requirement specifications for demos and proofs of concept Monitor app store ratings, user reviews, and feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives Research industry best practices in mobile and web application design, telematics, and InsurTech to inform product development
