Intermediate/Senior Business Analyst (GRC)

Position Description
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office
(downtown) at a minimum 4 days per week subject to change at any time.
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Financial Services, preferably within Risk Management, Governance, Compliance, or Regulatory Transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements while supporting enterprise risk and compliance programs.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead business analysis activities for enterprise Risk and Compliance initiatives.
Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements.
Create high-quality BRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, and functional specifications.
Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Business, Technology, QA, and Product teams to deliver scalable solutions aligned with regulatory and business objectives.
Support solution design, data analysis, system integrations, testing activities, UAT, production readiness, and post-implementation support.
Identify process improvements, manage requirement changes, assess business impacts, and ensure complete traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with governance standards, regulatory obligations, and enterprise risk management practices.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Must-Have Experience
5-8 years of Business Analysis experience within Financial Services, with a strong focus on Risk Management, Operational Risk, Compliance Risk, or Regulatory initiatives.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as Basel, SOX, OSFI, or equivalent regulatory standards, including experience supporting regulatory compliance and governance projects.
Experience working with Enterprise Governance, Risk & Compliance (eGRC) platforms or similar risk management solutions, supporting operational risk assessments, control management, issue management, or compliance monitoring.
Proven experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, and system requirements, translating business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and business rules.
Strong experience facilitating requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, backlog grooming sessions, and collaborating with Product Owners, Risk teams, Compliance teams, Technology, QA, and Operations throughout the project lifecycle.
Hands-on experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) with solid knowledge of the SDLC, sprint planning, backlog refinement, UAT, defect triage, and production implementation support.
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile delivery tools for managing requirements, user stories, defects, and project documentation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across business and technical teams.
Experience supporting data analysis, reporting, data validation, or dashboard/reporting solutions is highly preferred.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000–$130,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
