About the role

Change the future with us.

We are looking for dedicated and talented people who solve ever-changing challenges, customer needs, and questions from colleagues with clever concepts and creativity. We embrace change and work with curious minds re-inventing the future of work. Join us and let us focus together on what’s truly important: making lives better with new ideas and the latest technology around the world.

About the role:

Are you excited by the challenge of turning robotics data into usable foundations for advanced AI systems? Do you enjoy working at the boundary between machine learning, robotics, data engineering, evaluation, and industrial software?

We are seeking a Senior AI/ML & Robotics Platform Engineer to help define the data, metadata, validation, and evaluation backbone for a Physical AI platform in Canada. This role will be central to connecting robotics data engineering with future support for Level 3 skills, model evaluation, finetuning readiness, and advanced AI-assisted robotic applications.

You will work closely with platform architects, robotics integration engineers, backend developers, and research stakeholders to ensure that robotics data is structured, trustworthy, usable, and aligned with downstream AI and product needs.

What will you do?

Define robotics dataset structures, metadata schemas, quality rules, and validation logic for industrial data collection and AI enablement. Help design how robot state, action data, task context, vision streams, annotations, and environmental metadata are captured and represented. Drive approaches for dataset versioning, reproducibility, lineage, and training/evaluation readiness. Support the design of VLA-related data collection and Level 3 skill enablement interfaces. Develop validation pipelines and quality checks for robotics data completeness, alignment, synchronization, and usability. Work with research-facing stakeholders to translate model and evaluation needs into practical platform requirements. Support handoff patterns between data collection, governance, review workflows, and downstream AI/ML consumers. Collaborate with robotics integration engineers on practical semantics for robot episodes, sensor timelines, and action representations. Help establish evaluation-ready datasets, benchmarking inputs, and structured feedback loops between platform and AI development. Contribute code, prototypes, tooling, and technical guidance across platform and data workflows.

What you will bring:

Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Strong experience in Python and modern data engineering or ML tooling. Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, metadata, validation workflows, and quality management. Good understanding of AI/ML workflows, robotics data, perception data, or model evaluation pipelines. Ability to bridge technical detail across software, data, and AI teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Practical mindset and willingness to work in ambiguous, early-stage platform environments.

What sets you apart:

Experience with robotics, robot learning, teleoperation data, vision-language-action workflows, or embodied AI. Experience with PyTorch ecosystem tooling, experiment tracking, MLOps, or evaluation pipelines. Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, robot logs, trajectory data, or multimodal data synchronization. Experience with industrial environments, edge collection systems, or sensor-rich datasets.

Why Join Us?

Impact: Build the founding team and platform capability for a strategic Physical AI initiative in Canada. Innovation: Work at the intersection of robotics, AI, industrial software, workflow orchestration, and platform engineering. Leadership: Shape the direction, culture, and operating model of a new strategic engineering organization. Collaboration: Partner with leading global research, product, and engineering teams. Growth: Help define how Physical AI platform capabilities scale from data foundations to runtime-enabled industrial applications.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience, and base salary ranges between $130,000 CAD - $160,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10 % of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
