Job Description What is the opportunity? Our RBC Insurance Strategy, Digital & Data (SD&D) team is currently hiring a Senior Business Analyst. In this exciting role you will lead the business analysis, as well as business systems analysis activities on medium to large size initiatives within RBCI. This role requires demonstrated advanced knowledge of Agile methodology with the ability to apply the principles of all aspects including creation of user stories, refinement, analysis and prioritization. Certain initiatives require working effectively with external third-party vendors and partners, translating requirements across different delivery methodologies such as Agile and Iterative Waterfall to ensure alignment and successful outcomes. This role demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability and can apply the competency in new or complex situations to execute all aspects of requirements delivery and planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, management, and support. What will you do? Facilitate collaborative sessions with large and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review Contribute to understanding and capturing the needs of the business through creation of current and future state business process, user stories, acceptance criteria, data catalogues and business rules Possess a detailed understanding of stories in the backlog, facilitate refinement of stories including acceptance criteria, and ensure the story meets the Definition of Ready Assist the Product Owner with leading various Agile events, and with prioritization of user stories, leveraging techniques to drive out priorities to meet business objectives Provide ongoing support to developers, QA team, and Business stakeholders Contribute to data model and system architecture decisions Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization Provide guidance and support to build capabilities of junior BAs What do you need to succeed? Must have: Minimum 3-5 years professional BA/BSA experience working in an Agile environment with business and technology team members on medium to large initiatives Proven industry knowledge/experience in Insurance or Financial Services paired with strong technology and business analysis knowledge Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with key stakeholders with expertise creating user stories and facilitating refinement sessions Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate complex business requirements and translate between different delivery methodologies to diverse audiences (business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors) Experience collaborating with and managing external third-party vendors/partners to ensure alignment on requirements, deliverables, and timelines Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work on multiple squads/initiatives at the same time Nice-to-have In-depth understanding of underwriting life cycle Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and coordinating complex initiatives across different project frameworks Exposure to hybrid delivery models combining multiple methodologies on a single initiative Product Owner certification Experience supporting the Product Owner role What’s in it for you?
