Join us and build for travelers everywhere. Introduction to the Team Expedia Group and Expedia Cruises are looking for a hands-on Business Intelligence Manager to join the Cruise team. This role focuses on building reusable semantic models, curated datasets, and trusted analytical foundations in Power BI and Fabric. The role partners with Finance, Operations, Technology, and Data Engineering to make high-quality data available for decision-making across the business. This role is primarily backend-focused — roughly 65% analytical development, 35% stakeholder partnership, though mix could shift as needed. You will own shared semantic models, business logic, data quality, documentation and cross-functional training, and work independently across multiple analytical areas. In this role, you will: Build & Maintain Build, maintain, and expand reusable semantic models and curated datasets in Power BI to meet existing and emerging business needs across teams Write and optimize SQL, DAX, and Power Query across a range of analytical workstreams Use Microsoft Fabric to expand and scale trusted data products across the Cruise team Monitor semantic model health, refresh reliability, Fabric capacity, and dataset performance Partner with the team's data engineer on upstream models, pipelines, databases, and source-system improvements Use AI tools and automation to improve speed, quality, and efficiency Own & Govern Maintain strong standards for data modeling, governance, documentation, and data warehouse design Lead data quality checks, root-cause analysis, and long-term fixes; implement proactive monitoring to get ahead of issues Define and own key metric definitions, collaborating with business stakeholders to establish how performance is measured and monitored across the Cruise team Partner & Enable Establish trusted relationships with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders, proactively identifying data gaps and recommending solutions to support strategic decisions Translate business needs into scalable analytical data products, thinking holistically across infrastructure, process, and tooling to identify opportunities for efficiency and scale Create clear technical documentation, business guidance, and executive-ready summaries Experience and Qualifications: Technical Foundation 5+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting Advanced Power BI skills including semantic modeling, DAX, Power Query, dataset design, and query performance optimization at scale Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets, relational databases, and data warehouses Strong foundation in data quality, governance, documentation, and metric design Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric; Python and AI productivity tools are a plus How You Work Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver reliably across multiple workstreams Strong problem-solving skills with sharp attention to detail and a bias toward long-term fixes over quick patches Think holistically across data infrastructure, process, and tooling — you see the system, not just the task How You Show Up Proven ability to build trusted relationships with Finance, Operations, and Technology stakeholders Strong communicator who can move fluidly between technical teams and executive audiences, translating complexity into clear, actionable guidance The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $95,000.00 to $133,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $152,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
