About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager/Senior Structural Designer to join our New Brunswick Structural Team in our Fredericton, NB office. Do you like to work in a team environment to solve challenging structural design and project delivery problems? We have an exciting opportunity for a senior technical professional to be part of our Structural Engineering practice. The successful candidate will support the growth, mentorship, project management, and technical coordination of the Structural team, with a focus on Industrial, Electrical Utility, Water and Wastewater, Material Handling, Heavy Civil, and building structures. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a natural problem solver, have strong attention to detail, and be able to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineers, designers, technologists, clients, and contractors. Experience with industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP2000, S-Frame, and other structural modelling or drafting tools would be considered an asset. Your Key Responsibilities: Project Management, including financial management, resource management, change order management, and invoicing; Business Development in the Atlantic provinces; Lead and coordinate structural design, drafting, modelling, detailing, and drawing production activities; Coordinate design support staff and work closely with engineers and multidisciplinary project teams; Provide mentoring and technical support to junior staff members; Prepare and coordinate technical specifications, design drawings, details, and construction documents; Construction contract administration; Periodic site work including meetings, field reviews and measurements; and Meet and liaise with clients; Your Capabilities and Credentials: College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering Technology, Building Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline. Certification or eligibility for certification as a CET or PTech, or equivalent designation would be considered an asset. Minimum 10 (ten) years’ experience in structural design, detailing, drafting/modeling, and project coordination, preferably involving industrial structures, material handling and electrical utility support structures, heavy civil and water tank/retaining structures, and buildings. Strong project management experience, including the ability to manage scope, schedule, budgets, resources, client communication, and deliverables. Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD; experience with structural analysis, modelling, or coordination software would be considered an asset. Detail oriented, organized, hardworking, with a team player attitude. Ability to balance project commitments and priorities to meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Valid driver’s license and be able to travel to job sites within Atlantic Canada. To meet pay transparency requirements, compensation ranges are included for roles in locations where required by law. The salary range listed for this position represents the expected hiring range; actual starting compensation will vary based on factors such as professional experience, technical expertise, credentials, and alignment with the role's requirements, as well as internal compensation structures and market data.
