About the role
Position Description
This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge St) and/or Client office at a minimum 2 days per week subject to change at any time.
We are looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong banking domain expertise and hands on understanding of the Application Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology teams, manage stakeholder expectations effectively, and contribute to successful delivery of banking and data driven initiatives.
Experience in collections and data related projects will be an added advantage.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications/user stories Participate in all phases of the Software/Application Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement analysis, design, testing, UAT, deployment, and support Facilitate stakeholder discussions, requirement workshops, and status meetings Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure successful solution delivery Support defect triage, requirement clarifications, and change management processes Create and maintain project documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process flows, use cases, and test scenarios Ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions Assist in data analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives where applicable
Experience
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role Prior experience in the Banking/Financial Services domain is mandatory
Required Skills
Strong experience in the Banking domain Good understanding of Application Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Strong analytical and problem solving abilities Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and process analysis Ability to work collaboratively across cross functional teams Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Good to Have
Experience in Collections domain/processes Exposure to Data analysis, data mapping, or reporting projects Knowledge of SQL, APIs, or data integration concepts Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field
Preferred Candidate Profile
Self driven and proactive professional Strong interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively Comfortable working in fast paced banking environments CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
