About the role

Behind every success is a team of dedicated experts driving us forward. Our corporate functions don’t just support — they lead, shaping the company’s path and preparing clients and employees for the moments that matter. Be part of a team where your work makes a difference, with opportunities to grow, collaborate, and thrive. Description The Specialist, Employee Relations is responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and continuously improving Employee Relations (ER) processes, tools, and frameworks to support the transition of operational activities to HR Business Operations (GSO). This role helps enable the Employee Relations Centre of Expertise (CoE) to scale globally by ensuring ER processes are clearly defined, standardized, documented, and transferable across regions. Initially focused on process design, operational excellence, and documentation, the role may evolve to provide increased advisory support on employee relations matters and more complex cases over time. The Specialist will work closely with Employee Relations leaders, HR Business Partners (HRBPs), GSO teams, and global stakeholders to support harmonization, consistency, and adoption of ER practices across the organization. Responsibilities Document, analyze, and optimize employee relations processes, including current-state and future-state workflows, to support transition to HR Business Operations (GSO). Participate in process mapping initiatives and support the design of scalable and sustainable ER operating models. Develop and maintain operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, manager toolkits, job aids, templates, and process documentation. Establish and maintain clear guidelines to support the consistent execution of ER activities across regions. Support the standardization of employee relations practices, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary processes, case documentation, and policy application. Ensure ER processes are aligned with global frameworks, governance requirements, and case management practices. Contribute to the design and implementation of consistent case quality and documentation standards. Identify opportunities to improve process effectiveness, user experience, operational efficiency, and scalability. Partner closely with global Employee Relations teams to support harmonized approaches and best practices across the organization. Provide guidance on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and low- to moderate-complexity cases while escalating higher-risk situations as appropriate. Serve as a key Employee Relations resource supporting HRBPs and GSO teams through practical guidance on tools, processes, and documentation. Develop and deliver training sessions, process walkthroughs, and knowledge-transfer activities to support adoption of ER frameworks and tools. Act as a primary point of contact for Employee Relations operational processes following the transition of responsibilities to GSO. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, Human Relations, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in employee relations, labor relations, human resources, or a related discipline. Experience supporting employee relations processes such as performance management, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, policy interpretation, or case management. Knowledge of employment legislation, workplace standards, HR policies, and employee relations practices. Experience documenting and improving operational processes, workflows, procedures, or service delivery models. Ability to translate business and HR requirements into structured end-to-end processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional and global stakeholders. Proficiency in English and French. Ability to work in a hybrid environment (2-3 days per week onsite). No travel required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within a unionized environment. Experience supporting both unionized and non-unionized employee populations. Experience participating in large-scale HR transformations, shared services implementations, or operational transitions. Experience working with HR systems and case management platforms, including Workday. Ability to analyze global frameworks and adapt processes to regional needs while maintaining consistency. Experience creating training materials, user guides, and operational documentation. Knowledge of global employee relations practices and governance models. Proficiency in a third language. Benefits We’ve designed flexible policies to promote well-being and growth, based on role-specific eligibility and requirements: A dynamic team environment.
