Interior Health is looking for an experienced Strategic Business Consultant, Partnerships & Land Management to join our team on a full time permanent basis.

This position offers a flexible work location from within the Interior Health Region and will require occasional travel to the office in Kelowna when required.

Salary Range

Salary range for the position is $90,770 to $130,481. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

About The Job

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Strategic Business Consultant is responsible for maximizing value and minimizing risk in the relationships with Partners. The Consultant will work closely with their team and provide advice to Director, Executive Director, and CFO/VP on strategies, risk and project/relationship management and support IH program managers. This includes analyzing the market for partnership opportunities as well as managing issues related to partners and partner agreements already in place.

Key issues for the Strategic Business Consultant will be issues of contractual due process, performance management, and relationships with internal and external partners.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities

Takes a leadership role in procurements, monitoring, and termination of contracts and business relationships within specific portfolios (e.g., commercial leasing, land management, real estate, business partnerships, and parking services) Provides advice in the review and development of contract and business processes to ensure that new initiatives are strategically appropriate. Provides advice on the strategic and legal implications of partnership decisions and on appropriate action regarding the establishment, procurement, negotiation, management and termination policies. Provides contract oversight for external vendor contracts within the portfolio Provides day to day guidance and direction to team members including Coordinators and Strategic Business Advisors Develops strategic reports on the partnerships portfolio including briefing notes for leadership review. Takes a lead role in project work as required, including reviews of the portfolio, review of market opportunities, and recommendations for change. Supports development and refinement of a performance management system for their contracts, business relationship and projects, including financial analysis in collaboration with other departments such as Business Operations, Accounting, and Capital Finance. Responsible for making recommendations and, where appropriate, implementing change on issues of contractual compliance, including the development of criteria/information packages regarding issues such as change of ownership and subcontracting within contracts. Supports RFP evaluation and new contract/business relationship negotiation. Supports complex starts and terminations of contracts and business relationships. Key liaison with IH Executive Directors, Directors and External Partners on strategic issues. Represents the portfolio to external partners, including municipalities, contractors, other government departments, and private and non-profit partners as assigned. In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately. Performs other related duties as assigned
