Compensation: The base salary for this role ranges between $ 111,760 - $ 153,670, with eligibility for an incentive target of 15% which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives. The pay range above is not a guarantee of compensation but reflects the potential total compensation for this role at the time of this posting based on the assigned job grade. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as geographic work location, relevant experience and individual skills. The stated range is a reasonable estimate and may change over time; final compensation may fall above or below the range provided. Position Details
The Manager, Security & Loss Prevention is an individual contributor responsible for owning and executing all Security & Loss Prevention initiatives across Grainger Canada. The role supports approximately 30-50+ locations and reports directly to the Director, Global Security & Loss Prevention. This position works closely with Operations, Human Resources, Legal, Real Estate, EH&S, Finance, and business partners in Canada and the United States to build, maintain, and continuously improve Security & Loss Prevention processes, standards, guidelines, training, and physical security controls. Through a results-oriented and influential approach, the incumbent uses data, field engagement, investigations, and problem-solving skills to identify risks, reduce shrink, protect employees and company assets, and support operational excellence. The incumbent performs internal and external investigations for the Company, including matters involving employee theft, external theft, product shrinkage, damage claims, and other sources of loss, and develops action plans to remedy weaknesses and prevent future loss.
You Will
Develop, own, and execute the Security & Loss Prevention strategy, initiatives, standards, guidelines, and training across all Grainger Canada locations to protect team members, customers, inventory, and company assets.
Conduct internal and external investigations into employee theft, external theft, shrink, damage claims, as-is product activity, and other losses; document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Analyze financial, inventory, cycle count, shortage, claims, incident, and security-system data to identify risk trends, shrink drivers, and process-control gaps, then translate insights into practical action plans.
Perform facility security reviews and risk assessments for current and future locations, including physical security, access controls, CCTV, intrusion, fire/life-safety interfaces, goods in transit, property access points, and site operating practices.
Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Legal, Real Estate, EH&S, Finance, Grainger USA, and other stakeholders to align initiatives, resolve Security & Loss Prevention issues, and support business priorities.
Manage relationships with security vendors, consultants, law enforcement, and government/customer stakeholders during incidents, investigations, audits, system work, and security clearance activities, including the Canada OLISS program.
Monitor compliance with Security & Loss Prevention policies and procedures; develop shrink-awareness communications, training, and field engagement tools that strengthen accountability and consistent execution.
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating current processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing value-added tools, resources, and controls that reduce loss and support operational excellence; complete other projects and responsibilities as assigned by their leader.
You Have
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of Security &Loss Prevention experience required
Proven experience in dealing with Security & Loss Prevention issues in a multi-unit retail environment.
Excellent working knowledge of physical security concepts, security systems, investigations and crisis management.
Strong business acumen.
Capable of understanding and using financial and economic concepts
Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence outcomes without formal authority.
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated program/project management skills.
Strong collaboration and relationship management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, as evidenced by success in persuading and influencing others without formal authority.
Strong communication and influencing skills; capable of speaking in an effective and influential manner to team members and senior leadership
Technology Acumen
Proficiency in MS Office/ SAP Knowledge is an asset
Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar professional certification Upon Hire preferred
Certified in Wicklander Zulawski preferred
Ability to travel on short notice, up to 40% of the time

You Have
