Make an impact with our Assurance & Accounting team as a Senior Accountant. Responsibilities
- Perform compilation, review, and audit engagements; provide bookkeeping and tax services.
- Prepare files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple engagements simultaneously and conduct inventory counts.
- Perform walkthrough testing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisitions and disposals, and payroll processes with clients.
- Summarize the client’s current financial position by gathering information and preparing the balance sheet, income statement, and other relevant reports.
- Evaluate and ensure the appropriateness of audit evidence supporting expenses, revenues, capital asset acquisitions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses.
- Review and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial records, documents, and reports.
- Develop charts of accounts and prepare journal entries for inclusion in the accounts.
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and key highlights.
- Build effective working relationships with clients; mentor and guide less experienced team members.
- Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
- Be willing to travel as required.
Skills and Experience
- CPA designation obtained.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),
- Experience with accounting and tax software.
- Understanding of business, accounting, management, and business development principles.
