Strategio - Lead Domain Business Analyst - Hybrid, Toronto, ON
The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Lead Domain Analyst to support complex investment operations, portfolio management activities, and operational excellence initiatives within a sophisticated financial environment. This role sits at the intersection of investment operations, accounting, reporting, and data analysis, requiring someone who can confidently navigate front-office, middle-office, and operational functions while ensuring accuracy, control, and efficiency.

As a Strategio Lead Domain Analyst, you will: Support the end-to-end operational management of investment transactions and portfolio activities. Validate transaction details, accounting entries, supporting documentation, and funding requirements. Partner with investment, finance, treasury, and operational stakeholders to facilitate successful transaction execution and settlement. Perform portfolio reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Support financial reporting activities, including performance reporting, portfolio analysis, and operational metrics. Assist in valuation processes and provide analysis on material movements across investment portfolios. Monitor operational controls and proactively identify risks, exceptions, and process improvement opportunities. Contribute to automation, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, and control frameworks. Provide guidance, quality review, and subject matter expertise to peers and stakeholders when required. Support ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and strategic operational projects.
Core Skills: 6+ years of experience in Investment Operations, Portfolio Operations, Fund Operations, Asset Management Operations, or a related financial services environment. Strong understanding of investment accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience supporting complex transaction lifecycles and operational processes. Knowledge of debt instruments, fixed income products, or alternative investments. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and utilizing Gen AI tools. Experience performing reconciliations, investigations, and operational analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Experience working across front-office, middle-office, and operational functions. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to identify risks, improve controls, and enhance operational processes. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Nice-to-Haves: Experience with investment management platforms such as SimCorp, Sentry, Duco, or similar systems. Exposure to private markets, private credit, structured products, or alternative investments. Experience supporting valuation processes. Knowledge of SQL, Python, VBA, Power BI, or data analytics tools. Experience participating in automation or digital transformation initiatives. Progress toward CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation.
