Business Systems Analyst – SAP Payroll & Tax Compliance
About the role
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support a regulatory compliance initiative focused on automating employment tax compliance processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP US Payroll, tax compliance, business analysis, and multi-system integrations. This role will work closely with Payroll, Global Mobility, Finance, IT, and external vendors to define requirements, improve processes, and ensure accurate tax withholding and reporting.
Key Responsibilities: Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews and workshops. Assess current payroll and tax compliance processes and identify gaps related to US tax withholding, business travelers, trailing compensation, relocation, and remote work tracking. Analyze SAP US Payroll configurations and recommend enhancements to support automated tax withholding and compliance. Define and document integration requirements between SAP, Concur, EY Mobility tools, payroll systems, and location-tracking data sources. Translate regulatory and tax compliance requirements into clear functional and technical specifications. Develop process maps, data flow diagrams, validation rules, reconciliation procedures, and SLA requirements. Collaborate with solution architects, payroll teams, and technical teams to support solution design and implementation. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements validation sessions, and status updates. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.
Required Qualifications: 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a regulated environment, preferably financial services. Strong hands-on experience with SAP US Payroll, including BSI Tax Factory, payroll configuration, and tax withholding calculations. Knowledge of payroll tax compliance, wage allocation, tax sourcing, and multi-state withholding requirements. Experience documenting business requirements, system integrations, and process workflows. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Experience translating business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
