The opportunity
We’re looking for a Product Specialist (Hydraulic / Pneumatic) to play a key role in managing and evolving Fairview’s product portfolio.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role is responsible for supporting product strategy, lifecycle management, and go-to-market execution for assigned product lines. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Sourcing, Marketing, and Operations to ensure our product offering remains competitive, relevant, and aligned with customer needs.
This is a highly collaborative role suited for someone who enjoys combining market insight, product development, and hands-on execution to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Product Strategy & Market Insight Support the development and execution of product strategies aligned with business goals Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities Monitor product performance and recommend improvements to drive profitability and customer satisfaction Identify and rationalize underperforming or obsolete products Support forecasting, budgeting, and product planning activities
Product Development & Launch Support product development from concept through launch and post-launch evaluation Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure product readiness and alignment Contribute to successful launch execution and market adoption
Marketing & Communications Develop and maintain product marketing materials (catalogues, technical documentation, digital content) Support execution of promotional initiatives across digital and traditional channels Contribute to website, social media, and product content updates
Sales Enablement Partner with Sales to ensure accurate and accessible product information Provide tools and insights to support sales effectiveness Support product visibility across customer locations and platforms
Brand, Packaging & Customer Experience Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across product materials Support packaging, displays, and trade show assets Enhance overall product presentation and customer experience
Training & Collaboration Deliver product training to internal teams and customers Collaborate cross-functionally to support execution of product initiatives Build relationships with external partners where relevant
General Assist with product-related or technical inquiries Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and company policies Maintain a safe and organized work environment Support additional responsibilities as required
Skills and qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in product development, marketing, engineering, or data analysis. Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic hoses, valves, and fittings is a strong asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and workflow/road mapping tools. Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What we offer
The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000 commensurate with skill and experience and comes with a comprehensive benefits package and an RSP savings plan.
