Job Title: Mainframe Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 4 days onsite) Duration: 6-12 months Contract Rate: CAD35-CAD40/hr
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with 5–7 years of experience working on mainframe applications within an Agile environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, and supporting end-to-end system implementations and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities: Lead requirement gathering and use case solicitation with business stakeholders. Drive discussions and document current and future state process flows for end-to-end (E2E) system processes. Develop, review, and socialize various requirement artifacts (e.g., BRDs, FRDs, user stories). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide input into E2E system design. Contribute to test strategy development, including test case creation and validation. Assist in defect analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution throughout the testing lifecycle. Support production validation planning and ensure readiness for deployment. Create and communicate operational and business process flows across technical and business teams. Identify, track, and manage risks and issues, providing timely updates and mitigation plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications: 5–7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst. Strong experience working with mainframe applications. Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Experience with requirement documentation and process modeling. Familiarity with test strategies, defect management, and deployment processes.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools. Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and best practices. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
