Senior Business Analyst – Finance Transformation Location: Toronto, ON Work Model: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days in office Industry: Financial Services Type: Contract
Our client in the financial services industry is looking for a Senior Business Analyst – Finance Transformation to support a large-scale finance change initiative. This role will work closely with Finance, Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders to improve reporting processes, document requirements, and support system/process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for: Partnering with Finance and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements Documenting current-state and future-state processes for finance reporting and transformation initiatives Supporting process improvement, automation, and reporting enhancement opportunities Working with technology teams to translate business needs into functional requirements Preparing key project documentation including BRDs, process flows, data mapping, test cases, and UAT documentation Supporting data analysis, data quality review, and reporting validation Coordinating workshops and meetings with cross-functional teams Assisting with testing, issue tracking, and user acceptance testing Identifying gaps, risks, and dependencies across finance processes, systems, and reporting workflows Supporting change management and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle Must-Have Skills 7+ years of Business Analyst experience Strong experience supporting Finance Transformation, Finance Reporting, or Finance Systems initiatives Prior experience in financial services, banking, wealth management, insurance, or capital markets Strong documentation skills including BRDs, process maps, requirements documents, test plans, and UAT artifacts Experience working with Finance, Accounting, Reporting, or Data teams Strong understanding of business processes, data flows, and system impacts Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to work in a hybrid environment, 2 to 3 days per week in office Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with finance reporting transformation or regulatory reporting projects Knowledge of data lineage, data quality, or data mapping Experience with ERP, finance systems, or reporting platforms Exposure to Agile and Waterfall project environments CPA, CBAP, or finance-related education/designation is an asset
