Your Opportunity Stantec Buildings is a group of interdisciplinary consultants that work collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable projects safely. Your role as an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer and contributor on our professional consulting services team is to work as part of a larger team to execute projects across various sectors and locations in Regina and across Western Canada. You will be based out of the Regina, SK office. Your Key Responsibilities Supporting a diverse portfolio of projects in scale and complexity and ensuring projects are delivered on budget and schedule while driving innovation, technical excellence and quality control and assurance. Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all mechanical engineered systems or products for a project. Act as technical advisor on mechanical design issues and guide staff on solutions. Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats. Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three dimensional models of building’s mechanical systems and provides markups for junior engineers/ designers. As part of a larger team, prepares, develops and revises mechanical documentation in various project phases including reports, site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details. Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors. Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating. Supports the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents. May be opportunities to act as the mechanical engineering team lead with direct supervision to assigned staff; develop staff skills and abilities by providing guidance and mentoring through effective communication to strengthen technical abilities and work ethic Participates in constructability review. Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers. Assists in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical group. Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects. Develops and contributes to proposals for diverse types and scales of projects including creation of fee estimates, scope of work and work plans. May oversee and work on multiple projects. Develops strong client relationships through proactive business development and marketing efforts as well as through exceptional delivery of projects and associated deliverables. Work collaboratively to support the Saskatchewan Building Engineering Team to develop and implement programs and procedures affecting Mechanical Engineering.
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
