Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards.

Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Current CPR certification Competencies Listening skills Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to exhibit situational awareness Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Ability to be resilient Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level Additional Comment No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable
