We're partnering confidentially with a respected Canadian infrastructure manufacturer seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Structural Engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys balancing technical excellence with people leadership. You'll serve as the engineering leader, mentor and develop engineers and designers, establish technical standards, and work closely with executive leadership to deliver complex steel bridge and structural infrastructure projects across Canada. Lead the engineering function for a growing Canadian infrastructure organization Report directly to executive leadership with significant influence on technical direction Mentor and develop engineers, EITs, and designers High-impact leadership role combining engineering, innovation, and business collaboration Competitive compensation, bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, and company pension Stable organization with long-term growth opportunities What You'll Be Doing Engineering Leadership Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Structural Engineers, EITs, and Designers Establish engineering standards, best practices, and quality processes Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing engineering culture Support recruitment, succession planning, and professional development Technical Leadership Act as Engineer-of-Record and provide technical oversight for structural engineering deliverables Review engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications Ensure compliance with Canadian engineering standards and applicable design codes Provide technical guidance on complex structural and bridge projects Project & Business Support Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams Support project planning, value engineering, estimating, and constructability reviews Assist customers, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders with technical solutions Improve engineering workflows, efficiency, and project execution Innovation & Continuous Improvement Lead engineering process improvements and standardization initiatives Evaluate new technologies, structural systems, and design methodologies Support product development and engineering innovation Monitor engineering KPIs and recommend operational improvements What We're Looking For Required Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Ontario 8+ years of Structural Engineering experience Previous leadership experience managing or mentoring engineers and technical teams Strong structural steel and infrastructure engineering background Excellent understanding of Canadian design standards and engineering best practices Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills Preferred Bridge engineering experience Consulting engineering background Engineer-of-Record experience Experience reviewing and sealing engineering documents Experience with RISA 3D, Midas Civil, IDEA StatiCa, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks Experience collaborating with manufacturing or fabrication teams Ideal Backgrounds We're particularly interested in candidates from: Structural Engineering Consulting Bridge Engineering Heavy Civil Infrastructure Structural Steel Transportation Infrastructure Industrial Structures Engineering Consulting Firms Steel Fabrication Design-Build Organizations Who Will Thrive Here?
