Social Media Manager (Freelancer)
About the role
We're hiring a Social Media Manager (Freelancer) to run social distribution for two of our clients.
About Extra Sauce: Extra Sauce Agency helps B2B software companies turn their executives into trusted category voices and build content engines that create demand, trust, and pipeline.
We work with companies in complex markets where buyers are skeptical, technical, and overwhelmed by generic content. Our work combines founder-led content, executive thought leadership, audience research, narrative strategy, and content-led GTM systems.
The Role: You'd own social distribution for two of our clients in the privacy and cybersecurity SAAS space across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
You'll be reading performance data every week, deciding what to double down on and what to kill, and running the machine that gets content from idea to published without you personally touching every asset.
We're looking for someone who genuinely thrives on both sides of this - digging into data and running tight project management with the creative team.
Experience Required: Real experience managing social accounts for a brand where you owned the entire distribution plan You genuinely thrive on understanding data and how it impacts future content production. You're able to draw qualitative and quantitative insights from data. Strong project management instincts - you can juggle timelines across multiple contractors on the creative team without dropping a deadline You've managed contractors or freelancers before, and you know the difference between micromanaging and actually unblocking someone You're comfortable across the best in-platform practices for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn You are a STRONG copywriter You have a good eye for quality assurance
Role Expectations: You'd start with 1-2 client accounts in the SAAS space to manage their social distribution Flexible hours but you're able to work in EST business hours, especially from 8am to 12pm EST for anything that needs last-minute touches for distribution. You work independently and communicate proactively (data performance, workflow efficiency, bottlenecks, etc.) Staying on top of the latest changes to social media platforms and their algorithms Having clear alignment between social media calendar -> content production > content strategy > marketing strategy Own the content calendar across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn — staying ahead of it Coordinate a roster of creative contractors (video editors, designers, copywriters) to make sure production is done ahead of time Turn quantitative and qualitative data into informed, actionable insight Repurpose technical B2B long-form content (e.g. podcast, webinar, YT videos) into platform-specific clips and posts. Flag production bottlenecks before they become missed deadlines, and have a plan ready when they happen anyway
Compensation: Type: Contract / freelance Location: Canada/US preferred; open to remote candidates who can work EST business hours, especially the 8am–12pm EST window Rate: $30–35/hr CAD, based on experience Hours: ~10hrs/week
Please apply directly on LinkedIn with your resume/portfolio.
Deadline: July 24th, 2026
