About the role

The Graduate Institute of South Africa is seeking a dynamic, professional, and results driven Sales Consultant to convert inbound enquiries into confirmed enrolments.

This role is suited to a confident sales professional who can understand each prospective client’s training needs, recommend an appropriate GISA programme, explain the registration process clearly, and follow every opportunity through to registration and payment.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Sales Consultant will manage and convert inbound leads generated by GISA’s outsourced marketing function.

The successful candidate will engage prospective learners, employers, and corporate clients to identify their training requirements and recommend suitable GISA programmes. These include short ICT courses and full time QCTO qualifications and skills programmes.

The role requires accurate programme advice, consistent follow up, effective objection handling, professional client communication, and disciplined pipeline management. The Sales Consultant will also ensure that confirmed clients are handed over smoothly to the relevant internal teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales and Revenue Generation

• Contact assigned leads promptly by telephone, email, WhatsApp, or virtual meeting. • Consult with prospective clients to establish their training needs, interest, eligibility, budget, preferred delivery method, location, and decision timeline. • Recommend suitable short ICT courses, QCTO qualifications, skills programmes, and learning pathways based on verified client needs. • Provide accurate information about programmes, certification or qualification status, entry requirements, duration, delivery method, schedules, fees, payment terms, and registration procedures. • Prepare and send accurate quotations, proposals, schedules, registration forms, and payment instructions. • Conduct presentations or meetings for individuals, employers, and corporate clients when required. • Respond professionally to questions and objections. • Negotiate within approved commercial parameters. • Follow up consistently with prospective clients throughout the decision process. • Secure completed registrations and payment. • Cross sell and upsell suitable programmes or learning pathways where they meet the client’s identified needs.

Lead and Pipeline Management

• Manage and follow up on assigned leads promptly and consistently. • Maintain accurate and current CRM records. • Prioritise active opportunities and keep the sales pipeline organised. • Track each prospect’s progress from initial enquiry to paid enrolment. • Provide feedback on lead quality and conversion opportunities. Customer Relationship Management • Build and maintain professional relationships with individual learners, employers, and corporate organisations. • Provide clear, accurate, and responsive communication throughout the sales process. • Support a smooth onboarding experience by handing confirmed clients over to the appropriate internal teams.

Sales Administration

• Maintain complete and accurate sales and client records. • Ensure documentation is accurate and compliant. • Support sales reporting and forecasting. • Maintain the accuracy of quotations, proposals, registration documents, and payment information.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Performance in this role will be measured against: • Achievement of monthly sales revenue targets • Number and value of paid enrolments • Lead to paid enrolment conversion rate • Achievement of individual and corporate sales targets • Average sale value • Cross selling and upselling contribution • Accuracy of programme advice, quotations, and registrations • CRM accuracy and pipeline management • Lead response times and follow up compliance • Customer satisfaction and professional client onboarding

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum qualification of Matric or Grade 12 • Proven sales experience, preferably within education, training, ICT, or a related service environment • Strong knowledge of ICT short courses, including ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and Huawei, as well as QCTO qualifications, will be advantageous • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong presentation and negotiation abilities • A target driven approach and strong focus on achieving measurable sales results • Proficiency in CRM systems such as Zoho, HubSpot, or similar platforms • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Ability to work independently and manage multiple leads effectively • Strong organisational and administrative abilities • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
