Application Integration Team Lead The Application Integration Team Lead leads Bird's Application-to-Application (A2A) integration capability within Digital Services – Business Systems, providing hands-on technical leadership, people leadership, and delivery oversight for secure, reliable, and scalable system-to-system integrations across Bird's enterprise application landscape.
This role is accountable for designing, delivering, supporting, and continuously improving A2A, API, event-driven, batch, and data integration solutions that connect core enterprise platforms, reduce manual effort, improve data quality, enable automation, and support better business decision-making. Working with business stakeholders, Application Services, Data and Automation Services, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, vendors, and delivery teams, the Team Lead establishes integration standards, reusable patterns, API governance, monitoring, incident response, and operational support practices.
As a technical leader and escalation point, the Application Integration Team Lead builds and coaches a high-performing integration team while ensuring integration solutions are maintainable, reliable, secure, and aligned with Bird's enterprise architecture and business objectives. What You Will Be Working On Define and maintain the enterprise integration roadmap in alignment with Bird's technology and business strategies. Establish enterprise integration standards, governance frameworks, development methodologies, and support models. Lead and manage a team of integration and analysts, providing direction, coaching, and day-to-day delivery oversight. Manage the end-to-end delivery of application-to-application (A2A) integrations using an enterprise integration platform (iPaaS) and third-party connectors. Establish and enforce reusable integration patterns, API lifecycle governance, coding/testing standards, and error-handling and monitoring practices. Manage project timelines, scope, and resource allocation to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—National Operations, Finance, People & Culture, PMO, and Data teams—to ensure successful project delivery. Serve as an escalation point and subject-matter expert for integration design, performance, security, and reliability across mission-critical data flows. Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders, fostering relationships and identifying opportunities to improve and scale the integration practice. Develop, coach, and train team members, supporting their professional and personal growth and building bench strength within the team. Governance, Operations & Continuous Improvement Define and manage integration lifecycle processes including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support. Establish API governance standards, versioning practices, documentation standards, and integration catalog management. Develop operational monitoring, logging, alerting, error handling, and troubleshooting frameworks. Drive improvements in integration reliability, performance, scalability, maintainability, and supportability. Establish operational support processes, service level objectives, and environment management practices. Lead release management, change management, and production support activities for integration services. What We Are Looking For Hands-on experience with the Boomi integration platform (Boomi / Dell Boomi AtomSphere) is considered a strong asset, as Boomi is a core component of Bird's enterprise integration landscape. Experience developing, deploying, and supporting integration processes in Boomi (AtomSphere), including Atom/runtime management, environment extensions, and process logging. Boomi API Management experience—building web service and API components, and managing connectors (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Viewpoint/Vista, Workday, database, and file-based connectors). Familiarity with Master Data Management / data governance tooling (e.g., Semarchy) and enterprise construction/ERP systems (Vista/TC1, InEight, Coupa). Exposure to Azure Databricks / lakehouse data platforms and analytics integration. Relevant certifications (e.g., Boomi Professional/Architect). ASSETS (PREFERRED) Hands-on experience with the Boomi integration platform (Boomi / Dell Boomi AtomSphere) is considered a strong asset, as Boomi is a core component of Bird's enterprise integration landscape. Experience developing, deploying, and supporting integration processes in Boomi (AtomSphere), including Atom/runtime management, environment extensions, and process logging.
