We are excited to invite you to apply for the full-time CAD Technician opportunity at LRI Engineering. We are seeking a CAD Technician to support successful project delivery by assisting project managers with the preparation and maintenance of CAD and Revit drawings for Fire and Life Safety projects, with a strong focus on fire alarms system design. This position offers hands-on experience in a collaborative consulting environment. The CAD Technician will report directly to the Manager of Fire & Life Safety Services. JOB FUNCTIONS Support project delivery by completing assigned work efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company and project standards. Assist in the design and layout of fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable codes (e.g., NFPA, OBC, ULC). Support fire protection system design, including sprinkler layouts and related components. Prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings (plans, risers, details, and schematics). Coordinate design documents with engineers, project managers, and field teams. Interpret, prepare, and modify architectural and engineering plans, Revit drawings, layouts, and schematics based on project requirements and design inputs. Collaborate with project managers to ensure drawings align with project specifications and standards. Maintain organized drawing files, documentation, and version control across multiple projects. Assist with the conversion of existing CAD drawings into Revit Models, as required. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drawings as needed and support overall project coordination. Conduct site visits when required, to verify dimensions and gather data to develop accurate drawings. Stay current with CAD software updates and industry trends to support continuous improvement and quality outcomes. Collaborate with Finance to for project documentation and billing processes. QUALIFICATIONS Diploma in Architectural or relevant Technology Certifications in AutoCAD and Revit Minimum of 2 years of experience in CAD drafting. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required. Experience supporting fire protection, life safety, or building services projects is considered an asset.
