Job Description Overview The Senior Municipal Engineer will join our Municipal Infrastructure Group within the Engineering, Design and Project Management Division in western Canada. In this role, you will contribute to innovative engineering solutions that support growing communities. In this leadership role, you will oversee civil and utility design projects from concept to construction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects across the Greater Vancouver Area. Your role Develop, oversee and manage detailed civil and utilities engineering designs, drawings and analysis for the civil infrastructure from preliminary concepts, specifications, bid documents, engineering directives with a focus on municipal clients, ensuring adherence to project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards within the Greater Vancouver Area. Manage the design packages delivery and conduct regular project review meetings, provide guidance and support to team members, and ensure QA/QC processes are followed throughout the project. Ensuring QA/QC, and compliance while following project budgets and timelines. Complete civil & utilities designs within a team consisting of engineers, engineering interns and CAD technicians in the planning, execution, and management of civil, property, utilities and drainage design packages. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and construction personnel, to ensure seamless project delivery and compliance with design specifications. Act as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, maintaining strong relationships and communication throughout project lifecycles. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior staff, fostering professional development and team collaboration. About you Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution and licensed BC Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Minimum of 20 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on civil municipal & utility design. Experience in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively in project environments. Proven track record of successfully managing civil design components of large-scale infrastructure projects, from conception through to completion. Proficiency in civil engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MS Project Aptitude for applying municipal standards, construction specifications and regulatory requirements in British Columbia. Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $117,200 - $161,200 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
