Senior Technical Sales Engineer

Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Sales Engineer to spearhead long-term strategic growth for their capital equipment product lines in North America. This role involves proactively identifying new business opportunities and fostering relationships with clients. As a senior technical-commercial resource, you will lead customer engagement initiatives and enhance our regional market knowledge, positioning themselves for continued success in a competitive landscape.

About the Role Lead identification and development of new end-user accounts in the mining and mineral processing sectors across North America Build and strengthen relationships with EPCMs, consultants, and contractors to increase product exposure and specification inclusion Conduct regular, structured client visits targeting key regional stakeholders with long-term project pipelines Proactively identify opportunities at the DFS / PFS / study stage to influence project scope and secure early package positioning Plan and host technical lunch & learns, workshops, and capability sessions with EPCMs and clients; Work closely with proposals, engineering, and estimating to develop project sales strategies and early-phase RFQ responses Develop structured account plans and sales strategies tailored to client needs, project timing, and regional standards Provide continued technical-commercial support through the construction and execution phase, ensuring solution alignment and driving value until award and contract closure Monitor and report on competitor activity, pricing trends, and new project announcements across Canada, USA, and Mexico Localise customer specifications and operational needs, including climatic or regulatory differences, and feed back into engineering and product teams Build pipeline visibility using CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), ensuring opportunity status, customer touch points, project intel and sales forecasts are current and actionable Drive outbound engagement and campaigns (e.g., EDMs, targeted marketing efforts) in coordination with marketing and product teams Work collaboratively with the VP Americas to shape North American growth roadmap Provide sales leadership and mentorship as the business scales and the regional team expands Represent at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
About You 5–10+ years’ experience in sales or business development of capital equipment or technical projects Prior success engaging with EPCMs and end users in the mining, minerals, or industrial sectors Familiarity with Canadian, US, and Mexican mining markets and regional project development timelines Experience developing sales strategy, pipeline tracking, and account development plans Experience using CRMs for opportunity management (preferably MS Dynamics) Self-starter with strong business development instincts and technical credibility Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term professional relationships Effective communicator and presenter across technical and commercial audiences Comfortable managing long sales cycles and project-based sales strategies Strong planning and organisational skills Bilingual in English and French (preferred) Resilient, adaptable and culturally sensitive Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-oriented attitude Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline strongly preferred Business or commerce qualifications an asset Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within North America
