About the role

At Copoly.ai, we are a dynamic biotech and AI company driving innovation by working on our own proprietary products and developing specialized solutions for our clients in pharma, biotech, and beyond. We are transforming the future of early cancer detection through AI-powered diagnostic solutions. Our flagship product, OncoSage, leverages RNA sequencing and proprietary machine learning algorithms to deliver accurate, blood-based cancer detection. We are committed to advancing the field of oncology through cutting-edge technology, improving patient outcomes, and detecting cancer at its earliest stages. Join us in our mission to make revolutionary strides in healthcare technology.

About the Job We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Computational Scientist to join our client project team at Copoly. The successful candidate will derive actionable insights from high-content perturbation screens for target and drug discovery. This role requires a deep understanding of computational methods for analyzing sequencing-based perturbation data (e.g. Perturb-seq, CROP-Seq), a passion for innovation, and a commitment to improving healthcare outcomes through cutting-edge technology.

We are looking for exceptional researchers with a passion for interdisciplinary research and technical problem-solving, and a proven ability to develop and implement research ideas. The candidate is expected to analyze genome-scale perturbation data in collaboration with other computational scientists within the client project team. This data will be used to derive early insights for oncology research teams and will also feed the large-scale training of Perturbation Foundation Models, enabling a paradigm shift towards Lab-in-the-Loop exploration of perturbative biology. The candidate is also expected to contribute methods and software to a large community of computational scientists aiming to derive insights from large-scale perturbation datasets.

Data Analysis & Scientific Insight Analyze large-scale high-content perturbation datasets. Work with computational leaders in CSCoE to derive insights for our oncology portfolio. Collaboration & Teamwork Collaborate with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams including biologists, chemists, data scientists, and other stakeholders. Community & Process Contribution Contribute to the broader scientific community through contributions to our computational pipeline and to internal analysis best-practices.

Educational Background Education: Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field ( e.g., Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or in the physical or life sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Biology) with a strong quantitative focus. Industry Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience (inclusive of post-doctoral work) Experience: Proven track record of analyzing large-scale Perturb-seq/CROP-seq datasets or similar multi-conditional single-cell RNA-seq data. Demonstrated interest in problems across biology and chemistry as applied to the discovery and development of treatments for disease, and cancer in particular.

Technical Skills Software Engineering: Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles. Programming: Expert-level proficiency in scientific programming in Python or R. Infrastructure: Experience working in any HPC environment (e.g. SLURM, AWS, SGE). Publications: Strong publication record and experience contributing to research communities. Experience with workflow managers such as Nextflow or Snakemake preferred.

Soft Skills & Professional Attributes Problem Solving: Proven ability to take full ownership of technical challenges and proactively drive solutions from start to finish. Communication: Strong technical communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
