The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives (SSII) Division provides strategic and integrated support for Justice services and ministry priorities. Within SSII, the Modernization, IMT and Research (MIR) Branch delivers data, reporting, research, evaluation, and performance measurement services to support evidence-informed decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement across the justice system.The Reporting, Research and Evaluation (RRE) unit provides operational and strategic reporting, business intelligence, research, evaluation, performance measurement, statistical analysis, and information products that support program management, policy development, and service improvement. The unit also contributes to the development and enhancement of data and reporting systems to improve access to reliable and actionable information.Role Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Business & Strategic Reporting within the Modernization, IMT & Research branch, the Business Reporting Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting data products and solutions to meet departmental decision-making needs. You will design and develop reporting and analytical products using data visualization and statistical analysis techniques to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will also contribute to the development and enhancement of business intelligence systems using your knowledge of data warehousing and business analysis concepts. This role includes a research and analytical component, requiring the ability to extract relevant information through effective engagement with business areas, strong knowledge of legacy systems, and a high degree of attention to detail. Core accountabilities of the positions include: •    Designing, developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence products to support operational, strategic, and policy decision-making.•    Engaging with stakeholders to identify reporting, analytics, and performance measurement requirements, translating business needs into effective data products and solutions.•    Collecting, preparing, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support reporting, performance measurement, research, and evaluation activities. •    Applying statistical, analytical, and data visualization techniques to identify trends, generate insights, and address complex business questions.•    Querying data, aggregating results, and developing reports to respond to ad hoc requests involving sensitive and high-impact information.•    Supporting the development and maintenance of data governance practices, business rules, reporting standards, and documentation to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability. Assets:•    Experience using business intelligence, data visualization, querying, and analytical tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, R, Python, SSRS, Excel, VBA).•    Experience developing reports, dashboards, performance measures, or analytical products to support operational and strategic decision-making.•    Experience applying statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, generate insights, and support evidence-informed decision making. •    Experience communicating complex, technical, or sensitive information to diverse audiences and building collaborative relationships with stakeholders.•    Experience working with justice system data and/or complex, multi-source datasets. Equivalencies will be considered based on one-year experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.  Examples: •    A related 2-year related diploma and 6 years of related experience. •    A related 2-year master's and 2 years of related experience. •    A related 1-year certificate and 7 years related experience.•    No post secondary education and a minimum of 8 years related experience.
