As a Senior Business System Analyst, you will be the bridge between our business partners and our developers, responsible for delivering exciting and reliable products in the Digital Banking Unit. You will contribute to improve Scotia digital banking and digital payment services' availability, scalability, performance and reliability.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product owners, development teams, and QA teams, to gather and analyze business requirements for Canadian Digital Banking applications.
  • Provide estimates for incoming projects at both high level and detailed level requirements for small to medium-sized projects, as well as engineering driven initiatives.
  • Create and maintain product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria using agile techniques and tools.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and other business system analysts to design and implement solutions that meet business and/or support needs, as well as align with technical standards and guidelines.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management to ensure timely and effective decision-marking.
  • Facilitate problem-solving discussions and general communications between stakeholders.
  • Prepare operational reports to provide insightful information to key stakeholders by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate operational initiatives.
  • Explore opportunity to streamline and provide input to the continuous improvement of processes, including adopting processes to latest technologies and methodologies.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 4+ years of experience involving in progressively more challenging responsibilities as a Business System Analyst in IT system solution development, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
  • 3+ years of working experience in generating operational reports targeted for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of retail digital banking and digital payment processes, products, and systems, with knowledge of core banking platforms and financial instruments.
  • Proven experience in supporting the management and delivery of complex software deliverables. Demonstrates strong knowledge of Agile methodology. Certified Scrum Master certification (CSM/PSM or equivalent) is required and experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to details and a commitment to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates proactivity and accountability.
  • Good understanding of incident and problem management process is preferred.
