Business Analyst (Finance), Intermediate

Position Summary:

This position will be a trusted advisor to the business and help develop requirements, processes and procedures.

Performance Expectations:

  • Defines scope and objectives.
  • Prepares functional process charts to analyze business operations.
  • Plans, designs or modifies practical manual and automated business procedures.
  • Assists with the design of business processes and documentation.
  • Prepares detailed specifications for business applications.
  • Perform a lead role in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new business applications and enhancements to existing business applications.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Work with QA team to coordinate and perform in-depth tests, for modified and new systems.
  • Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing.
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience as a System Analyst, Project Lead, Business Analyst, Accounting or Finance Manager.
  • University degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, business administration or finance.
  • PMI PBA / CBAP certification is an asset.
  • IFS ERP working knowledge is an asset.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
  • Knowledge of business applications such as IFS (Finance), AP, AR, GL, SAP BPC, and ADP.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Possess skills in the following: prioritizing, analytical, problem-solving, communication (oral and written), project management, listening, interpersonal, computer, teamwork and self-motivation skills.
