Job Summary

As a Senior Business System Analyst in the Compliance Technology team, you will execute all aspects of requirement delivery- planning, elicitation, analysis and documentation, and requirements management. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary scrum team, working closely with requirements stakeholders to make decisions about requirements approach – requirements deliverables, activities, effort estimates and will recommend best courses of action.

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?

  • Elicit functional and system requirements for Trade Compliance projects for Capital Markets and Wealth Management
  • Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of details and accuracy of estimates
  • Analyze and document detailed business and system solution requirements using Agile methodology
  • Define practical user experiences, including storytelling, personas, process flows and interactions
  • Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives, following the enterprise standards
  • Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Interact with source systems that will provide data for trade, market, client and reference data for the application.
  • Work with the ETL team, developers, Vendor consultants and numerous data sources to gather data requirements and mapping specifications.
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of the data mapping specifications and testing activities.

What do you need to succeed?
Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with business systems analysis and software development.
  • Experience defining and documenting complex functional business logic
  • Expertise in data mapping and creating data mapping specifications.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes
  • Expertise in gathering, analyzing and documenting business rules for processing data.
  • Expertise in test planning, test case preparation and testing of applications and data mapping.
  • Familiarity with SQL database and experience with scripting languages (SQL)

Nice to-have

  • Advanced knowledge of North American and international securities trading and data related to complete trade life cycle.
  • Knowledge of capital markets and Wealth Management is an asset.
  • Knowledge of global securities industry and products (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives)
  • Knowledge of financial industry and functions.
