Data Product Analyst

Based in Vancouver, the Data Product Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Data Products, ED&A. You will play a pivotal role in providing strategic and tactical analysis of our data products to various stakeholders across the organization. Working closely with teams spanning data product, engineering, analytics, science, intelligence, and BI, you will facilitate the collection of design inputs and measure the success of data products. Your contributions will shape product strategy, drive decision-making processes, and propel the organization forward.

As a Data Product Analyst, You Will:

  • Facilitate user interviews and workshops to gather data product requirements and design inputs from users, encompassing complex business logic, Excel Power Query, or SQL.

  • Translate collected requirements into technical specifications for Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Scientists.

  • Liaise efforts of various teams within the Data organization while coordinating collaboration with other business functions and teams to ensure continuous delivery.

  • Conduct deep-dive quantitative analyses, presenting findings in a readily usable format to diverse stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and engineering managers.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance analytics frameworks and methodologies, guiding stakeholders in their adoption.

  • Analyze user behavior to inform product strategy and business decisions, leveraging insights from data product success metrics.

  • Take ownership of complex analytical assignments, navigating ambiguity with confidence and delivering impactful results

Your Background:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in building data-as-product, data products, APIs, Data Platform as a Technical Business Analyst, Product Analyst, and/or Product Manager.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage technical team members of various roles (Software Engineer, UX/UI Designer, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Scientists) business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in agile project management methodologies, with a focus on facilitating the collaboration and coordination of cross-functional teams

  • Skilled in creating and maintaining project plans, sprint backlogs, and other Agile artifacts to track progress and manage priorities.

  • Proficient with SQL in technical data analytics, including working with diverse types and large amounts of data (e.g., timeseries, spatial, events) at various levels of aggregation

  • Familiarity with web/digital analytics metrics such as Daily Active Users, Retention, and Churn.

  • In-depth familiarity with data visualization and analytical tools, such as PowerBI and Apache Superset.

  • Strong understanding of data infrastructure and architecture to contribute to data product design approaches is a plus.

  • Experience contributing to building GenAI or Geo-Spatial Analytics Platforms is a plus.

  • Knowledge of basic statistical concepts (e.g., confidence intervals, normal distribution, correlation, linear regression, multivariate testing).

  • Experience with Python is beneficial, or a willingness to learn.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $100,000.

The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual's skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
