Senior Financial Analyst - Management Reporting

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst - Management Reporting based out of Calgary, AB (Hybrid) or Markham, ON (Hybrid). Reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst - Management Reporting is responsible for preparing management reports for the senior management and initiating and conducting in-depth analysis of the company's key performance indicators ("KPIs") and financial metrics to support business decisions and ongoing monitoring of performance. In this role, you will drive the enhancement, evolution and optimization of the company's management reporting, including the continued implementation of automated reporting tools and the development of drivers-based reporting and analysis. This role includes ownership of and generating the monthly financial scorecard and other reports, including presentation for the Board of Directors.

In order to achieve success in this role, you should have strong analytical skills and a strong aptitude in producing financial reports and interpreting financial results, as well as experience with using an ERP system and planning and reporting software. A high degree of attention to detail, advanced Microsoft Excel skills and effective time management skills are also essential to fulfill this role. Exposure to the telecommunications industry is desirable.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly management reporting package and other internal reports to senior management on a timely basis and with a high-degree of accuracy.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly management reporting presentations for executive team and Board of Directors.
• Implement the enhancement, evolution and optimization of the company's management reporting, including the continued implementation of automated reporting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy of reporting, improved access to up-to-date information for decision makers, and to increase focus on analysis of financial data to facilitate better and faster decisions making.
• Initiating and conducting in-depth analysis of the company's KPIs and financial metrics against budgets, forecasts and historical trends.
• Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for subsidiaries of Xplore and certain business units.
• Other ad-hoc analyses and tasks as assigned

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 4 years minimum experience in financial analysis and management reporting, including variance analysis, trending, drivers-based analysis
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Strong financial analysis skills and aptitude in understanding, producing and interpreting financial results
• Working knowledge and experience using an ERP system and planning and reporting software tools, such as SAP, Adaptive and OfficeConnect, is desirable.
• Advance Microsoft Excel skills
• Demonstration of innovation and initiative, always looking to improve processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities and tight deadlines
• Ability to work and drive projects forward autonomously
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Background in or exposure to telecommunications industry considered an asset
• A professional accounting designation (CPA) would be an asset
